Can Chez Clément prepare a personalised birthday cake?

Birthdays are part of the everyday life of the brasserie. With 230 seats across the main room, the conservatory and the bar, Chez Clément regularly hosts birthday lunches, family birthday dinners, milestone birthdays (18, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and beyond), engagements and surprises. The house has been running under the same family thread since 1858, across five generations, and a sense of family occasion is deeply embedded in the way the floor team operates.

The kitchen itself is the natural home for a birthday cake. Chef Vincent Frédéric De Laloy has run the brigade of thirty-two since 1996, with the all-house-made philosophy he learned through his training at CERIA (Brussels) and his career at Les Étangs Mellaerts, Thoumieux, Le Méridien and Le Trèfle à 4. He himself is the grandson of a Michelin-starred chef (Chez Grégoire, Brussels, 1960s), which gives the pastry side of the kitchen a respectable lineage. A personalised birthday cake therefore falls naturally within the team's capabilities.

The practical pattern is to coordinate at booking time, with reasonable lead notice. Mention the date, the name to write on the cake, the number of people, any allergy or dietary preference (gluten-free, dairy-free, no nuts), and the desired moment in the meal, usually before or alongside dessert, with the team bringing the cake to the table with candles. The cake is house-made by the kitchen team.
