Whether you are paying for a quiet Sunday lunch, a Thursday disco night evening, a group dinner or a single beer at the bar, the two major schemes go through the terminal in the standard way: insert or tap, enter the PIN if required, take the receipt.

Contactless payment is enabled on cards that support it, up to the usual Belgian PIN threshold (50 euros at the time of writing, applicable nationally). For larger amounts, the PIN is requested, in line with the European PSD2 strong customer authentication rules.
